Both a wife beater and a son who died at the lawmaker's house two years ago each, but no one has been charged. In 2018 and 2020, Jennifer Kirk and Sue Norton were discovered dead in Kotzebue, Alaska, showing signs of strangulation and beating. Both women were discussing the ex-mayor Clement Richard's sons at the time, with police officers being arrested by ProPublica inaction after the two women's deaths. Richard was recently found guilty of beating his wife Annette, while his two sons Anthony and Amos have a history of domestic violence. Anthony had been found guilty of beating Kirk prior to his death in May 2018, which police said was a suicide. Amos admitted to kicking Norton in the stomach when she was six months pregnant before she was killed in March 2020. Despite those convictions - as well as a long history of assault allegations from numerous other women - no one of the sons has been charged in their deaths.
