Work has finally started to gut and renovate the Manhattan mansion, where pedophil Jeffrey Epstein abused girls as young as 14 years old. Michael Daffey, a former Goldman Sachs banker, bought the seven-story home on East 71st Street last year, the city's largest single-family home, which went to a fund for Epstein's victims. Now he's keeping up the promises to'restore its splendor from before the Epstein period.' Building permits attached to the home show they were issued between April 6 and August 2 for the installation of sprinklers, which was different from one that was due to expiration at the end of the year. The mansion was listed on the website as 'a once in a lifetime opportunity to own the city's biggest single-family home.' Although Epstein's sprawling Upper East Side home was said to spy on his victims, it was also fitted with unusual furnishings, including Petrina Ryan-Kleid's now-famous painting of Bill Clinton (lower right) in a dress called Parsing Bill.
