Virgin Wines UK has reported an annual pre-tax profit of £5.1 million, up from £1.7 million year-on-year, but has cautioned on the future's margins. The online wine store claimed that after adjusting for unusual expenses in the previous year, its pre-tax income was 'virtually unchanged' at £5.1 million for the year ending 1 July. When compared to the 2020 financial year's fits result, this represents an 83 percent increase. Virgin Wines reported group sales of £69.2 million, down from £73.6 million year-on-year, with WineBank's sales up to £38.5 million from £31.8 million.
