Victoria Eugenia de Battenberg (left inset) and her tumultuous marriage to Alfonso XIII, which took place between 31 May 1906 and 1931, will be re-telling the life of the Queen of Spain (right inset). The drama follows Victoria Eugenia's life, from close friends and relatives, who was born in Balmoral Castle, Scotland, to Prince Beatrice and Princess Beatrice, the youngest daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. According to verTele, filming of the six-episode series in Santander's grand Magdalena Palace, where the monarch stayed during her summers.
