Francisco Javier Garca de la Camacha (born June 24, 1984) better known as Javier Ambrossi, is a Spanish actor, stage director, and film producer.

He is best known for creating and directing La llamada, as well as co-directing the film version.

Early life

Ambrossi was born in Madrid and studied Dramaturgy at the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático. Macarena Garca, his younger sister, is also an actor.

Career

Ambrossi has appeared in a variety of television shows, including El comisario, Amar en tiempos revueltos, Sin tetas no hay paraguso, and Cuéntame cómo pasó.

He co-directs La llamada at Teatro Lara in Madrid, a musical he created with Javier Calvo in 2013.

The Mexican performance of La llamada opened at the López Tarso Theatre in Mexico City in August, with a Mexican cast.

Paho Salas, an Ambrossi and Calvo-built web television series, premiered on Flooxer in July 2016. Netflix acquired the rights to air the second season of the series due to the success of the series.

The film version of La llamada, directed by Ambrossi and Calvo, premiered in Spain in September 2017.

Ambrossi, along with Calvo, was ranked 47th in El Mundo's list of the most influential LGBT people in Spain in 2017.

Ambrossi and Calvo competed on reality television talent competition Operation Triunfo as the tutors of acting in the "Academy" from October 2017 to February 2018.

Veneno, the Ambrossi and Calvo-created biographical television limited series, aired on Atresplayer Premium and HBO Max in 2020.

Ambrossi has served as a panelist for Mask Singer: Adivina quién canta, the Spanish version of the international music game show Masked Singer, since 2020. Ambrossi was appointed as a judge for Drag Race Espaa, the Spanish version of the television drag queen competition Drag Race, on March 1, 2021.
