Santiago Segura Silva (born 17 July 1965 in Madrid) is a Spanish actor, screenwriter, director and producer of Spanish cinema, popular for its pentalogy film series Torrente.
He also worked to a lesser extent as a TV presenter, voice actor and comic writer, as well as being an original collector. At 12, he began making films with a Super-8 camera, and, after a recommendation from Fernando Trueba, began to make films in 35 mm, funded by his appearances in TV game shows.
Fame would come with his first feature, Torrente, el brazo tonto de la ley, to be followed by numerous sequels that would make it the highest grossing Spanish film series.

Santiago Segura Silva was born in Madrid on July 17th, 1965. He was born in Carabanchel, the city's district. He vowed to pursue a career as a filmmaker while filming the short Relatos de medianoche, which cost around US$50. He directed his first commercial short Evilio in 1992, before Perturbado in 1993.
Segura is a regular actor in directors Alex de la Iglesia and Guillermo del Toro's works.
He appeared in Alex de la Iglesia's film Acción mutante in 1993. He appeared in El d'a de la Bestia, the same director, two years later, and the role made him popular in Spain. Torrente: El brazo de la ley (1998), he directed the film that brought him to fame, he also appeared as the lead character José Luis Torrente, a sleazy criminal combater. Its success resulted in a sequel (Torrente 2: Misión en Marbella) and a PC game (El juego).
Torrente 2: Misión en Marbella raked in the Spanish box office, grossing €22,838,500, making it the most successful Spanish film of all time.
