Jason Boyd (1979), better known by his stage name Poo Bear, is an American record producer, singer, and songwriter.

He is best known for co-writing several of Bieber's hits, including "Where Are Ü Now" and "What Does Mean?" He is best known for his role as one of Justin Bieber's top collaborators. "PYD", "Hold Tight" and "All That Matters"), and "All That Matters") for co-writing the song "Caught Up" from Usher's Diamond-certified album Confessions.

Early years

Boyd was born in Connecticut. Since a tornado left them homeless, he and his mother migrated to Atlanta at age 9. His first professional success came from his time with R&B company 112, for whom he wrote "Dance with Me" and "Peaches & Cream."

Boyd continued to write with other writers, including Chris Brown, Jill Scott, and Mariah Carey, following his early success with 112, including Bryan Brown. Usher's album Confessions was released in 2004, containing the single Caught Up, which Boyd co-wrote with Ryan Toby and producers Dre & Vidal. The album was rated diamond by the RIAA, which sold over ten million copies in the United States, and it is widely believed to be one of the decade's best albums. "Caught Up" was the fifth single from the album to debut, peaking at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Boyd was introduced to Justin Bieber by rapper Lil Twist and other Bieber friends in Las Vegas in January 2013. The two people became bonded over common upbringings and tastes in music, and they travelled the world together while researching Bieber's album. Boyd rescheduled working with other artists during this period, devoting his entire life to Bieber. "No Pressure" (where he is also acknowledged as the producer), "All That Matters," "Where It Is," and the double-platinum selling singles "Where Are Ü Now" are among Bieber's albums Journals and Purpose's top hits, including "Where Are You Now." (No. ) "What Do You Mean?" and 8 Billboard Hot 100) and "What Do You Mean?" (No. 1 Billboard Hot 100) is a billboard Hot 100. Boyd's debut studio album Poo Bear Presents Bearthday Music on Capitol Records was released on April 27, 2018.

Boyd's career in both the Latin and Country music genres flourished in the latter part of the 2010s. "Despacito (Remix)" was named the top Latin song on the Billboard charts, and Dan + Shay's hit "10,000 Hours" debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, with "Despacito (Remix)" at number one.

In addition, Boyd produced the songs "Maana es Más" and "Lo Nuestro es Más" by Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy, with the first one being a joint effort with Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin.
