Steve McMichael, the NFL legend, has been hospitalized once more in the midst of his continuing fight against ALS, just four months before he is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. McMichael, a fan of the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, and Green Bay Packers, went public with his ALS diagnosis three years ago and has had more than his fair share of health issues since. He came home in February after being inpatient with a urinary tract infection, and it was announced that he now needs round-the-clock care.

McMichael, 66, a star defensive tackle on the Chicago Bears' storied 1985 Super Bowl championship team, was admitted to intensive care Thursday night. According to Jartt Payton, the son of legendary Chicago running back Walter Payton, McMichael, affectionately known as Mongo, is improving after being given antibiotics to treat the UTI. McMichael's family soon announced that the patient was responding well to the therapy, while revealing that he is also undergoing an operation to drain his lungs of fluid.
