James Wlcek Life

James Wlcek (born February 22, 1964), also known as Jimmy Wlcek or Jim Wlcek, is an American actor born in New York City. He began his acting career in 1986 with an episode of Tales from the Darkside.

He auditioned for a role on All My Children in 1987, but he was turned down because he was not old enough.

He landed the role of Ben Shelby after his audition tape was sent to the makers of Ryan's Hope.

At the time, he was working for Keebler Cookies in the warehouse loading trucks on the graveyard shift.

In 1988, Wlcek was selected for Outstanding Male Newcomer Daytime for his appearance on Ryan's Hope as Ben Shelby. He appeared in the play Liars directed by Shellen Lubin at the Producers Club Theatre during his time on Ryan's Hope.

Linc Lafferty appeared on As the World Turns eight months after.

He stayed there for the next two years.

He came out to Los Angeles a year later and appeared in various commercials.

In 1997, Trent Malloy appeared in Sons of Thunder, a two-hour Walker, Texas Ranger film.

Jimmy's role as a guest actor on several other episodes of the long-running series became a recurring one.

Sons of Thunder, a spin-off film from 1999, was directed by Jimmy in one of the lead roles.

Despite ratings that are higher than those of the show's replacement, the show was cancelled after five episodes because CBS felt it was too expensive. He is a highly trained martial arts specialist, showcasing his ability on episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger.

Jimmy was given an award by the Los Angeles county Sheriff's Department in 2018 for his role in the safety of an inmate.
