Just before 8pm on Hogmanay last year, Georgia Toffolo pulled up outside the BrewDog headquarters in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, for a New Year's party. The sleek, silver brewery on the north-east coast of Scotland is not, perhaps, the natural place you'd expect the glamorous I'm A Celebrity winner and Instagram star to see in the New Year. But Ms Toffolo was there to celebrate with her boyfriend, controversial BrewDog founder James Watt, and found him working in his office. 'You'd been working most of Christmas and all day when I drove into BrewDog H.Q. to remind you that we had friends and family arriving soon for a celebration downstairs,' she wrote on Instagram last weekend.

Mr Watt, 41, this week handed over the reins of the top job to chief operating officer James Arrow but will remain with the group as a non-executive director on the board and continue to advise them on strategy. He has insisted he had been considering quitting 'for a while' amid his tenure being marred by criticism and controversies, including accusations by former workers the firm had a 'culture of fear' with 'toxic attitudes' towards junior staff. After nearly two decades, having started BrewDog in a garage in Aberdeenshire with his friend Martin Dickie, Mr Watt says he is now burnt-out and admitted 'there are people that can' run a company with 3,000 people 'better'. Last year, it was reported he sought specialist help after he was described as 'semi-autistic' in the wake of allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards staff.
