Early years
Sikking was born in Los Angeles on March 5, 1934 to Andy and Sue (née Paxton) Sikking. Unity-by-Sea Church in Santa Monica was co-founded by his mother. He graduated from UCLA in 1959 and attended the University of Hawaii. Tom and Art, his two brothers, as well as Joy, his sister.
Personal life
Since 1962, he has been married to his second wife, cookbook author Florine Sikking (née Caplan). They have three children.
Career
Sikking appeared on ABC's Doogie Howser, M.D. Captain Stan Jonas, as Dr. David Howser, 278 and on the 1997 drama series Brooklyn South. On Hill Street Blues from 1981 to 1987, Sikking appeared as Sergeant (later promoted to Lieutenant) Howard Hunter. On the short-lived 1998 cartoon series Invasion America, he also played Geoffrey St. James on NBC's Turnabout: 1113 and voiced General Gordon. He is often credited as James B. Sikking, and he has been credited as "Jim Sikking" in some of his earlier appearances on film and television.
In the earlier Point Blank film, he produced The Competition, Outland, Up the Creek, Star Trek III: The Hunt for Spock and Narrow Margin, as well as a small (but crucial) role as a cynical hitman.
