The world's most popular YouTuber sounded the alarm over a TikTok scam that appeared to show him giving free iPhone 15s to followers. However, criminals had used Artificial Intelligence to create an animated avatar that was almost identical to the real thing. The ruse was revealed just days after actor Tom Hanks and CNBS host Gayle King reacted angrily at deepfake images of themselves that advertisers had stolen without permission. "Lots of people are getting this deepfake scam ad of me," MrBeast, real name James Donaldson, told his 24 million followers on Twitter, before X.
