In "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," the Spider-Verse is getting a massive upgrade. Film makers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller teased some major improvements in the sequel film, which is expected to be "way, way, way bigger" during CinemaCon 2022. Variety announced in April that during the annual convention, Lord and Miller gave a crowd of movie theatre owners an exclusive glimpse at a raw video from the first 15 minutes of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," but not before hinting at some new information about the film. According to Lord and Miller, the sequel will take place in six universes and have a total of 240 characters, relative to "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" which only had 40 characters. "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse" is the producer's official name for the company's next film instalment.
