Green was up against Charlie Stobo of Western Australia and prevented a delivery back to the bowler, with the bowler throwing the ball back at the stumps as the NSW batter was standing outside of his crease. The ball was headed for Green's legs, and he used his bat to prevent it from striking him. WA appealed to the umpires as to whether or not it was against the rules.
