Carl Erskine, the famed Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher and last surviving member of the famed 'Boys of Summer,' died on Tuesday at the age of 97. His death was confirmed by filmmaker Ted Green, who directed a 2022 documentary on the famed pitcher: 'The Best We've Got.' Green told The Washington Post that Erskine died from pneumonia .

The past and present of Los Angeles sports stars caught up on Monday as Lakers legend Magic Johnson and Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani posed for a picture together. What's left of the statue are simply Robinson's boots, as police security footage shows the robbers taking the majority of the sculpture and throwing it in the back of a pickup truck and driving away.

Bill Russell's 1975 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame ring has gone up for auction and is expected to sell for more than $200,000 before bidding closes on Friday.
