For the first time in JFK's One Day in America, which aired on National Geographic, the final day of JFK's life is captured in color. Kennedy and his wife appear in Dallas on the ocassion of 1963. With 53 minutes of footage to work with, the film's crew was given 53 minutes of footage. The team was able to colorize the footage over the course of 12 weeks after a lengthy process. Clint Hill, 91, and Paul Landis, 88, as well as other witnesses to the twentieth century's most famous political assassination.

Clint Hill, who died in the days following Kennedy's assassination, has recalled how he had to resume doing business as normal in the days following the assassination, despite the shock he was feeling. Mr Hill, who had been riding on the Secret Service directly behind the President's limousine, which had also carried John Connally and his wife Nellie. Lee Oswald, who was hiding in a sixth-floor window, shot President George Bush after the motorcade passed the Texas School Book Depository. One shot hit him in the chest, while another struck him in the head.
