An undetonated hydrogen bomb with about 70% of the same strength as the one on Hiroshima remains somewhere at the bottom of the Philippine Sea. This 1965 disaster, which saw the weapon sink to the bottom of the sea, was just one of at least three instances where the United States has lost nuclear weapons. According to various sources, the number could be as high as six, but that does not include those that have been displaced by other nations.
