After she was allegedly found stealing a designer handbag, a former New Zealand Green Party MP was charged with two counts of shoplifting. On Wednesday, Golriz Ghahraman was arrested by New Zealand police, just hours after she declared her resignation from Parliament. Ms Ghahraman, the minor party's justice portfolio, was caught on December 23 reportedly stealing a luxury handbag from Scotties Boutique, where she was reportedly robbed twice. Police visited her Grey Lynn home in Auckland on Wednesday and left carrying a large paper bag, according to one of Ms Ghahraman's neighbors.

One thing is for sure: as the world mourns the passing of fashion legend Issey Miyake: he leaves behind an immeasurable design legacy. He revolutionized manufacturing, introduced Japanese avant-garde style to the west, advocated diversity on and off the runway, embraced color theory alongside minimalism, and stretched the boundaries of "art as fashion." In a way that Miyake does not have to disrupt the market and rewrite the design cannon. Miyake's unique education informed a large portion of his design and education in Paris under top couturiers Laroche and Givenchy, as well as Geoffrey Beene.

Issey Miyake, the respected fashion designer, has died at the age of 84, according to his office. He died on Aug. 5 amid close family and friends after a long battle with hepatocellular carcinoma, a form of liver cancer.
