Career
Galante was born in Riga to a musical family. In 1977, she joined the Latvian Academy of Music in Riga. She became a soloist of the Latvian National Opera while still a student at the Academy. Parallel to her role in Riga, she was involved in opera productions at other theatres, particularly in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where she had a fruitful relationship with conductor Valery Gergiev.
Galante appeared soloist at National Theatre Mannheim and Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf from 1991 to 1999. Since then, she has been traveling and performing all around the world.
