Imran Khan, Pakistan's former prime minister, apologised in court on Thursday in an attempt to stay out of prison and avoid contempt charges. After arguing that the official had been tortured, the Islamabad High Court found Imran Khan (pictured left, top right on court) would be charged on September 22 for criticizing the magistrate in jail for holding a party leader in police detention. In a public rally last month, Khan told a female judge, 'We will not spare you'. His counsel Faisal Chaudhry told reporters, 'The court has ruled to indict him.' It's a vote by five member judges, according to the king. The decision is the latest in months of political wrangling that started even before he was deposed in April by a vote of no confidence in the national assembly.
