Hugh Hudson, the actor best known for Academy Award-winning film Chariots Of Fire, died at the age of 86, according to a statement on behalf of his family. Following a short illness, the filmmaker, who was behind the 1981 film about two British runners in the 1920s, died in hospital in London on Friday. At the 54th annual Academy Awards in 1982, Hudson's big-screen debut scooped best picture, original score, writing, and costume design.
