Early life
Shajarian was born in Tehran and is the son of Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, a grand master vocalist of Persian traditional music. He began researching the tombak, a Persian hand drum, and traditional Persian vocal Avaz at a young age.
Shajarian attended the Tehran Conservatory of Music, selecting Kamancheh as his professional instrument and being guided by Ardeshir Kamkar. He appeared with his father in 1991, Europe, and Iran, and he began accompanying him on vocals from 1999.
