Early life
Soroush Lashkary was born in Tehran on May 8, 1984, and is the son of a family of five. He lived in Germany until he was two years old and then lived in Tehran's Vanak neighborhood. He was studying translation at Garmsar University but had to leave college due to personal commitments and the search for the Persian hip hop. His father is from qazvin, ziahr, and has a close friendship with Hossein Lashkari (pilot of Iran's Air Force who was captured in Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war). Since emigrating to Great Britain in the aftermath of the 2009 Iranian presidential election demonstrations, Hichkas lives in London. Azadeh Akbari, a British-based Iranian feminist feminist, is married to him.
Hichkas was known in his youth for establishing the 021 supergroup (the Tehran area code). Around 2003, he began his music career in Vanak, along with others who also cover some English language songs in the Rap battle. When Hichkas began rapping in Persian about social issues and the younger generation of Iran, he attracted attention. Traditional Iranian instruments and urban beats were mixed with urban beats to create a hybrid style, a mix of east and west, in Hichkas' early releases.
