Hernán Cattáneo (Spanish pronunciation: [etane]; born 4 March 1965) is an Argentine house DJ. He makes electronic music, mainly progressive.
Musical career
Cattáneo began his career in the 1990s with FM Z95, a local radio station that was largely responsible for the diffusion of electronic dance music in Argentina.
He gained the residency in Buenos Aires, Clubland Pacha. During his residency, legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold appeared at Pacha while on tour. Paul was so captivated by his craft that he begged Hernan to open for him on his tours around the world. He was exposed to an international audience that he otherwise would not have reached outside of Argentina. He joined Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Records in Liverpool, England, and Ibiza, Spain, just a few years later, and eventually became a Cream resident in Liverpool, England, and Ibiza, Spain.
He has appeared at Creamfields, Exit, and Refresh Festivals. He soared to No. 1 as a DJ. 22 and then to No. No. 1, and vice versa. The top 100 DJs in the Top 100 DJs list 6 on the DJ Mag list of the top 100 DJs. Cattáneo's musical style has remained true to form, with eschewing overly commercial/pop sounds in order to maintain a large and enduring presence in progressive house circles globally.
