Taran Kaur Dhillon (born 29 July 1979), better known as Hard Kaur, is an Indian rapper and hip hop actor as well as a Broadway actor and actress in Bollywood.

Early life

Hard Kaur was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, on September 29th, 1979, as Taran Kaur Dhillon, into a Punjabi Jatt Sikh family of the Dhillon clan. She was born in Kanpur, where her mother ran a small beauty parlour in the house. When she was young, her father was killed, and her mother's beauty parlour was set on fire by anti-Sikh demonstrators. Her paternal grandparents begged her mother to leave their house and to keep her brother with them. She, her brother, and her mother followed Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, where they spent the next few years.

In 1991, she mother and her family remarried in Birmingham, England, where her mother began working and studying in order to open a beauty salon in Smethwick. In the meantime, Hard Kaur completed her education in the United Kingdom as an Indian immigrant. She began her music career as a rapper after showing an interest in hip-hop.

"Ek Glassy" was the top-ranked UK artist at the time, but she was rapped for Sriram Raghavan's "Paisa Phek (Move Your Body) in 2007." The song accurately depicts fan fever and is sung in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, and South words (?) Yeah, that's right. She has also written the lyrics for the song.

In June 2019, a First Information Report was sent against her for remarks she had made about Yogi Adityanath and Mohan Bhagwat. Her Twitter account was suspended in August 2019 after she posted a video disparaging Amit Shah and Narendra Modi with Khalistan Supporters.
