Early life
Sorola was born in Austin and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, near the Mexico-United States border. He began working at teleNetwork, where he met Burnie Burns and Geoff Ramsey, one of Rice University's co-founders.

Career
Sorola is a founding member of Rooster Teeth Productions. He is still a member of the company and appears in many of the company's productions. Richard Simmons' character has been known since 2003 in the machinima series Red vs. Blue. From 2004 to 2006, he was also a voice actor in The Strangerhood. Rooster Teeth Shorts, which started in 2009, and Immersion, which began in 2010, are among his live-action credits. He has appeared in three RT Docs: Unconventional, Why We're Here, and Common Ground.
Since 2008, Sorola has hosted and produced the Rooster Teeth Podcast (formerly known as the Drunk Tank). Sorola shares several anecdotes about his life, including his childhood and early career on the podcast. He appeared on several other podcasts, including The Patch, Let Me Clarify, and Heroes & Halfwits. He has been co-hosted the award-winning podcast Black Box Down since March 2020.
