Personal life
At eighteen months old, he was born in Bridgwater, Somerset, England, as the first child to Alan and Bernie Goss. Despite relating his early interest in makeup, Goss has said in various interviews that being plagued by acne at the age of 20 fueled his decision to work in makeup. Goss is gay.
Career
Goss said he started out self-taught by reading makeup books published by contemporary artists Way Bandy and Kevyn Aucoin. He continued his training in makeup artistry in London and went on to work as a makeup artist. Goss works alone without a portfolio and takes reservations based on existing customers' recommendations.
In 2009, Gossamakeupartist began posting videos on YouTube under the name Gossmakeupartist. Unlike makeup tutorials that are usually found on YouTube, Goss' videos include additional features, such as guiding viewers in different ways of makeup application for the corresponding face shapes in an effort to provide a more user-friendly approach to makeup.
