The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers won the Famous Toastery Bowl 38-35 in overtime after a 28-point comeback against Old Dominion. Caden Veltkamp, a redshirt freshman, came off the bench to throw for 383 yards and five touchdowns after replacing Turner Helton under center. Veltkamp was labelled as the third-string quarterback and was forced to act after Helton was not able to replace starting QB Austin Reed, who didn't participate in the game.
