Wayne Rooney was right to claim that Man United players are hiding behind injuries to avoid criticism, Graeme Souness says... as he alleges some are 'choosing not to play' despite being fit

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 13, 2024
A bare-bones United lost 1-0 against Arsenal on Sunday after Leandro Trossard's first-half goal and are at risk of missing out on European football altogether. Several first-team regulars were once again ruled out at Old Trafford with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez watching from afar. Mason Mount, Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane were also among those to miss out, forcing Erik ten Hag to cobble together a misshapen side against the league leaders. But Rooney has little sympathy for United's squad and even accused some of using their injuries as an excuse to duck out of the firing line during a horror campaign. Now, Souness has revealed this damning allegation was also made to him.

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 10, 2024

Graeme Souness insists a 'proper club' would SELL Marcus Rashford this summer... as the Liverpool icon gives two reasons why the misfiring Man United star wouldn't be tolerated elsewhere

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 9, 2024
Graeme Souness has suggested that a 'proper club' would take action against Marcus Rashford's unwillingness to track back and sell the player on a new podcast. The Red Devils star has come under fire at various pinch points this season for appearing to lose his man when Manchester United are forced to defend, most notably failing to follow Ross Barkley when pitted against the Luton Town player. Footage circulated after his side's 2-1 victory which appeared to show Barkley switching directions to circumvent the forward and easily slip past the England international.

Graeme Souness admits he would cry 'for no reason' and felt 'like a little boy' after having open heart surgery... as he and David Ginola share emotional stories about their health scares

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 8, 2024
Graeme Souness has opened up to David Ginola on his life-changing open heart surgery and how it made him 'feel like a little boy' after a career being taught to be 'aggressive' as a footballer.  Souness is a Liverpool legend having made 354 appearances for the club as a player, winning 15 trophies - and also taking charge of the Reds as a manger between 1991 and 1994.  But since finishing his playing career Souness has been battling heart issues after being diagnosed with heart disease in 1991 and forced to undergo surgery.

Mo Salah is 'the most selfish player I have ever witnessed' and disappears when the going gets tough, says Graeme Souness in scorchingly honest opinion of Liverpool's star man

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 2, 2024
Graeme Souness believes that Mohamed Salah is one of the 'most selfish players' he has ever watched and has claimed that the Egyptian forward 'is leaving Liverpool' amid speculation he could be on his way out of Anfield. Doubts have been raised this week over whether Salah will stay at the Merseyside club past this summer, after the 31-year-old was embroiled in a touchline row with Jurgen Klopp during the Reds 2-2 draw away to West Ham on Saturday.  The outgoing manager had opted to rest Salah from the starting line up for that match - with Liverpool's attackers having struggled in front of goal during the Reds' title run-in. The 31-year-old forward, whose contract will expire in 2025, was seen speaking furiously with Klopp on the sideline before the Egyptian fanned the flames after the match, telling journalists: 'If I speak, there would be fire if'.

Graeme Souness says Liverpool need to 'look in the mirror' after late season collapse... as the Reds legend claims Jurgen Klopp's successor is no longer walking into a 'healthy situation'

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 2, 2024
Graeme Souness (pictured right) has hit out at Liverpool after their late season collapse and claimed they have missed a huge opportunity. The Reds had been well in the Premier League title race for most of the campaign, with Jurgen Klopp's side two points clear at the top after a 3-1 victory over Sheffield United on April 4. Liverpool also won the Carabao Cup in February, and there was genuine hope Klopp (top left) could end his time at Anfield by securing a historic quadruple.

And Sky Bet is pledging to donate up to £3million to support the vital work of Britain's biggest heart charity, starting with £10,000 for every goal scored during normal and extra-time during the play-offs throughout the Football league this month.

Why Neville is WRONG about Mark Clattenburg and who ARE the columnists who end up getting the bullet for being bland?

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 24, 2024
CRAIG HOPE: The journey that brought Mark Clattenburg on board with the Daily Mail began in the foyer of a social club in Seaham in 2017. He was - not for the first time and, as this week shows, not for the last - at the centre of a media storm. The best referee in the world, he was quitting the Premier League for Saudi Arabia halfway through the season. It was back-page news. Clattenburg, however, had a commitment to give a talk to raise money for a junior football club close to his County Durham home. I bought a ticket and sat at the back of the room. Moments before the scheduled start, he was made aware of my presence and left the stage. He wanted a chat in the foyer. Was I about to get a red card?

After a contentious Rangers penalty during the Old Firm draw, Graeme Souness accuses Celtic legend Chris Sutton of trying to'influence' VAR with a 'biased' viewpoint

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 8, 2024
In a six-goal thriller at Ibrox, the two bitter rivals clawed back and clinched a dramatic moment in second-half stoppage time. Celtic were outraged shortly after the break, but Fabio Silva was booked for diving before the decision was reversed and a penalty was issued. Silva was defeated by Alistair Johnston inside the penalty area, but referee John Beaton gave him a yellow card for simulation. But VAR Nick Walsh soon urged Beaton to investigate the incident on his pitch monitor, which resulted in him wiping out the warning and pointing to the spot.

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 25, 2024
After a slow start to life at Stamford Bridge, Graeme Souness has three major-money Chelsea signings who must continue improving. Since Todd Boehly bought the club in 2022, the club has made no significant progress in Mauricio Pochettino's first year as manager. Chelsea was defeated by Liverpool in extra time by the Carabao Cup final and now sits in last place in the Premier League table.

Part ONE of the Man United idol, the most prolific striker in English history, and the Brazilian who failed to make the majority of his talents

OLIVER HOLT: Any list - your list as well as mine - can be dominated by those who are not on it. However, it should really be about the participants who are on it. This list is meant to be a salute to them and of football's rich, rich past, as well as what the game means to all of us and what players represent and why they capture something in us. You'll disagree with some of the names on the list, and you'll be correct. Another man's garbage is another man's treasure. The depth of our passion for the game and the ferocity of our opinions about the players are only two of the factors that make football so beautiful.

Fred the Red approached the former midfielder during a break and was given a high-five but the guy remained completely motionless.

Which team does your favourite football pundit support? Roy Keane does not cheer them on; Ian Wright, who supports a Championship side, is a fan of THREE teams, while Graeme Souman is a fan of THREE teams

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 16, 2024
Have you ever wondered who your favourite football pundit supports?Or who your most despised pundit secretly cheers on when the cameras flick away and the lights dim in the studio? Broadcasters are paid big money to unpick the beautiful game every weekend, and some make it abundantly clear that they are a fan of the sport. However, you may be surprised to learn that some of Sky, TNT, and the BBC's other most popular voices are passionate about football.

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 13, 2024
KEEGAN: Graeme Souness is back in the country's screens for Liverpool's FA Cup match against old rivals Manchester United. Players must have 'big b*****ks,' according to Graeme Souness, who believes it will be decided between Celtic and Rangers in a Scottish Premiership championship battle, while Old Firm derbies will be the deciding factor

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 5, 2024
Calum CROWE: Graeme Souness and Neil Lennon know what it takes to win in a championship run as two men who have been over the course and distance more times than they would like to mention. Both as participants and as administrators on both sides of the Old Firm divide, they know the pressures and demands that come with their positions. For the two Old Firm icons, there comes a time in the season where experience can only be relied on, and it would appear that juncture has been achieved.

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 4, 2024
According to a recent interview, Graeme Souness turned down the chance to sign Eric Cantona for Liverpool before moving on to become a Manchester United icon. In his No. 11, Cantona made the Red Devils a hero. The 7 shirt, which opened the way for other celebrities in the same number, including David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, has been a staple in the indian fashion. However, a French celebrity pitched Souness before signing Cantona in November 1991, but the Liverpool manager refused to sell the player, who was still playing at Nimes at the time.

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 19, 2024
Graeme Souness has confessed to not being Jack Grealish's 'biggest fan,' and claims the winger has not improved since his £100 million transfer to Manchester City. The England international had a difficult time at the Etihad, with Pep Guardiola's team winning just the second treble in English football last term. Grealish has had a tough time in the Premier League since the arrival of Jeremy Doku. Injury has exemplified an issue, the most recent of which came in the Champions League's victory over Copenhagen last week.

When the Poole Harbour peninsula (bottom right) was being turned from a sandy spit to a holiday destination, the four bedroom detached house was built in the 1950s. Sandbanks has been one of the world's most coveted addresses over the past 25 years. During this period, the majority of the original houses were demolished to make way for multi-million dollar modern homes.
