According to Deadline, Dafoe will be playing late David Tebet, who served as the vice president of talent relations for the National Broadcasting Company (NBC), when SNL first launched. Jason Reitman, who co-wrote with Gil Kenan on a screenplay, is directing the film, which tells the true tale of the lead up to the first Saturday Night Live episode.
