Antonius Beelen (born 25 May 1977 in Haarlem) better known as Giel Beelen, is a Dutch radio DJ and host, who works mainly for public broadcaster VARA.
Beelen has hosted his own breakfast show GIEL since 2004. On national radio station 3FM. After beating the world record for longest continuous crowd surfing in 2014, Beelen set a Guinness World Record for the longest radio DJ marathon ever, lasting 198 hours of non-stop broadcasting, 'FreakNacht' from 1:00 to 4:00 a.m. on Friday night, as well as the extreme participation TV show Factor giel and a TV talk show GielTV.

Career
Beelen began to be a disc jockey from an early age. He built himself a mock radio station to pretend he was a dj when he was a youth. He began working as an engineer at a local Haarlem radio company, presenting a show for children.
Beelen began working at Radio 3FM in 1997, where he hosted a show at night.
He was named Best Radiomaker of 2003 in October 2003, a Dutch Marconi Award for the best radiomaker of 2003. In 2005, 2006, and 2007, he received the award again.
Giel worked with the NPS, from the VARA to his breakfast show 'GIEL!' from 2004 to 2017. As part of 'The Friday Freak Night,', he and his Friday night show Nachtegiel appeared on 'The Friday Freak Night.'
