Life and career
Stults was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. Geoff Stults, his younger brother, is the actor. He received a wrestling scholarship at the University of Southern Colorado (now Colorado State University Pueblo), but in his junior year, he moved to Whittier College to be closer to his brother.
In high school, the Stults were interested in acting and wrestling. He got his start as a model. A commercial agent discovered Stults eating lunch one day and stopped to give him her card and, with that, he entered the world of acting. Stults seriously considered joining the US Navy at the time, but not before. Stults made his first television appearance outside of commercials on a Will & Grace episode in February 2001, and a short time later as Jessica Lockhart's daughter's boyfriend on a season 7 episode of Friends.
George auditioned for a job on 7th Heaven, where his brother Geoff, who had previously played him as Mary Camden's love interest Ben Kinkirk, appeared on 7th Heaven. George was first auditioning for a child who forces people to drink, and he was later cast in Ben's older brother Kevin's role. Stults appeared in a total of 114 episodes from season 6 to the final season 11.
In 2002, Stults appeared in television and print ads for Liz Claiborne's fragrance "Bora Bora." Randy Travis' "Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man" music video includes him. He appeared in K-Mart commercials with several other WB actors (2004). In 2007, he appeared in the film Night Skies. He appeared in the 2010 psychological thriller Necrosis, starring James Kyson Lee and Tiffany.
Stults began appearing in television movies in the mid-1990s, mainly as the male lead in romantic Christmas-themed films.
