George Peabody Life

George Peabody (PEE-b?-dee; February 18, 1795 – November 4, 1869) was an American financier and philanthropist.

He is widely considered to have been the father of modern philanthropy. Peabody, who was born in a poor family in Massachusetts, went into dry goods and then into banking.

In 1837, he migrated to London (which was then the capital of world finance), where he became the most prominent American banker and helped to establish the young country's international credit.

Peabody, who had no son of his own to whom he could pass on his company, took on Junius Spencer Morgan in 1854 as a partner, and J.P. Morgan & Co. was born.

Peabody's retirement in 1864 was a long time. Peabody's philanthropy won worldwide recognition in his old age.

He founded the Peabody Trust in the United Kingdom and the Peabody Institute and the George Peabody Library in Baltimore, as well as other charitable causes.

Among other awards, he was given the Congressional Gold Medal and was named a Freeman of the City of London for his generosity and for his service.

Jay Blades announces that the plans for his forthcoming wedding to fiancée Lisa Zbozen are "all set."

Jay Blades, a British restoration specialist, said he had been the 'organiser' for his upcoming wedding to fiancée Lisa Zbozen, according to Hello. In December last year, the Repair Shop actor, 52, announced his commitment to the fitness trainer in December last year, and now he has confirmed that their preparations for the big day are complete (left and right).

How Jay Blades rose from a poverty-deprived childhood to become one of Britain's most popular television stars

King Charles will appear in BBC One's The Repair Shop workshop later this month, requiring host Jay Blades and his staff to retrieve valuable items from the royal archives. Since the furniture manufacturer gained attention on the much-loved TV craft show in 2017, the show's host, Jay Blades, 52, has seen his career flourish in recent years. However, his later life success is in stark contrast to his youth, where he grew up in poverty in North London and ended up in a hostel in his 20s after being separated from the mother of his daughter.
