The Prince and Princess of Wales are likely to attend King Constantine II of Greece's funeral in Athens tomorrow with other members of the European royal family (pictured inset). On January 10, the king, the tyrant of Greece, died of a stroke in Athens at the age of 82, more than 50 years after being exiled in a military coup. Closer relatives and members of Europe's other royal families are expected to attend his funeral, which is being held at the city's Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral on Monday, January 16. Queen Letizia of Spain will be there with her husband and Constantine's nephew, King Felipe (pictured left), as will Queen Margrethe of Denmark (pictured left), who was his sister-in-law. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, as well as Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands are among the other European royals to attend. According to local reports, he died 'of a stroke' on Tuesday evening. Constantine had been treated in an intensive care unit at the private Hygeia Hospital in Athens, according to staff. In 1964, Constantine II, the young monarch, who had already excelled as an Olympic gold medalist in sailing, was extremely popular.
