Geeta Kapoor (born 5 July 1973) is an Indian choreographer and one of the judges for the Indian reality dance talent competition Dance India Dance, Super Dancer, and India Ke Mast kalandar kalandar.
Career
Kapoor began her work as she joined the troupe of well-known Bollywood choreographer Farah Khan at the age of 15. Farah Khan appeared in several films, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kabhi Kabhi Gham, Seh Pah Gham, Mohabbatein, Main Hoon Na, and Om Shanti Om (2003). She appeared in many Bollywood films, including Fiza (2000), Asoka (2001), Heyy Babyy (2005), Aladin (2005), Tees Maar Khan's (2011), Sheila Ki Jawani's (2010), Sheila Ki Jawani (2005), Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (2011), and Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi (2012). She has also choreographed award ceremonies and concerts like Temptation Reloaded, as well as choreographed the opening ceremony of Pepsi IPL 2013.
She began as a secondary background dancer in many song sequences, including 'Dum Tara' from the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai's 'Tujhe Yaaye', 'Tujhe Yaaye' from the movie 'Kuch Hota Hai' and 'Gori Gori' from Main Hoon Na, a combination of classical and modern dance moves, as a secondary background dancer. She appeared in films such as Nayak, beginning in the late 1990s. She also appeared in Kuch Kuch Kuch hai.
Kapoor made her television debut on Zee TV in 2008 with the co-judges choreographers Terrence Lewis and Remo D'Souza. Mithun Chakrabarty was the grand master. Geeta Ki Gang, a girl from Geeta Ki Gang, was trained by her.
She appeared on Dance India Dance's season two in 2009, as judge and mentors alongside choreographer Terrence Lewis and Remo D'Souza. They produced 18 participants in dance styles such as ballet, acrobatics, mid-air dancing, contemporary, Bollywood, and hip-hop.
During auditions as well as in a special episode, she made a special appearance in the show DID Lil Masters, in which her mentor Farah Khan and Sandip Soparkar were the judges. She served as the judge of DID Doubles as well as choreographers Marzi Pestonji and Rajiv Surti. Terrence Lewis and Remo D'Souza ruled the third season of Dance India Dance, alongside Terrence Lewis and Remo D'Souza. She appeared in 2012 and joined Marzi Pestonji in judging the second season of DID Lil Masters. Kapoor, along with Farah Khan and Marzi, were later seen as a judge of Dance Ke Superkids.
