The Mercury Music Prize in this year saw jazz quintet Ezra Collective go home victorious, making history by becoming the first jazz band to win the gong. Femi Koleoso, bassist TJ Koleoso, trumpeter Ife Ogunjobi, trumpeter Ife Ogunjobi, and tenor saxophonist James Molliso were all delighted in their rise from meeting at a youth club to national fame. Femi outlined how they got off and acknowledged that God had granted them a blessing from God after earlier success, such as appearing at Glastonbury earlier this summer.
