Residents of Mirabella (left), a senior citizen dormitory on the Arizona State University Campus, have sued a nearby music venue, alleging that it is too loud. A judge ordered that the Shady Park bar (right), just across the street from Mirabella (inset), reduce the volume of the city's famous EDM concerts and put a curfew. Shady Park appealed the decision, claiming that the injunction would prohibit them from performing concerts or knocking them out of business. Tempe's city rallied behind Shady Bar, arguing that the injunction was a step toward transforming its downtown into a burgeoning district.
