Dune: Part 2 of Frank Herbert's book was chastised for failing to include Middle Eastern and North African influences that were so prevalent in his book

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 27, 2024
Dune: Part Two is easily the year's best movie, and although the vast majority of followers and commentators are outraged, some are speaking out. The film is the second half of director Denis Villeneuve's two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 sci-fi magnum opus, giving viewers a closer glance at the Fremen - the desert dwellers on Arakis - and their way of life. The original book, which was regarded as one of the best sci-fi books of all time, delves deeply into topics prevalent in Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) societies while also focusing on Western imperialism.

Part Two of Dune: Timothee Chalamet leads an all-star cast in this marathon sci-fi film sequel, so don't forget your sandwiches

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 29, 2024
Part 2 of the British ViNER (Victor) Dune (British) Lasts almost three hours. It's even longer than the first film, and it seems that it will go on forever. It is, fortunately, that it does. Many of the plot tensions that fuelled Frank Herbert's ostensible 1965 science-fiction book was 'unfilmable,' according to the 2021 film (not specifically punctued by David Lynch's 1984 snuffles). It was fantastic, but it was exhausting, laboriously introducing us to Herbert's inter-planetary empire, and the various dynasties fighting for control or simply survival. The sequel has a much more straightforward plot. Paul Atreides (Chalamet), the forlorn, insecure House Harkonnen, prepares to lead the defunct, disenfranchised Fremen tribe against their mortal enemies.
