Franco De Vita (born January 23, 1954 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Venezuelan Latin Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter.
In Venezuela, his first album as a solo artist received three Spanish-language hits.

Career
De Vita's family immigrated from Venezuela to Italy when he was three years old, one of four children born in Venezuela to Italian immigrants. When De Vita was 13 years old, the family returned to Venezuela. De Vita learned Italian as his first language while he returned to Venezuela at age 13. He later studied piano at the University of Oxford. De Vita formed the group Icaro in 1982, which released one self-titled album in his homeland. He released his first album as a solo artist two years later, titled Franco De Vita (1984). "Somos Tres," "No Hay Cielo," and "Un Buen Perdedor" were three Spanish-language hits on the album: His 1986 album Fantasa had more hits, including the title song and "Aqu" Estás Vez." The album's "Sólo Importas T" was used as the theme song to the Spanish-language soap opera La Dama De Rosa. He appeared in the end credits of every episode, with the musician performing the song at the piano.
De Vita, a global celebrity, has joined CBS Records for the 1988 album Al Norte del Surrection. The album displayed his socially aware, adult-oriented pop, particularly through the tunes "Te Amo" and "Louis." The second album, which is about a daydreaming cabbie who idolizes The Beatles, was released with a music video that was considered a step ahead of its time. "No Basta," De Vita's 1990 album Extranjero, spent four weeks at No. 2 for the first time. MTV Video Music Award for number one on the United States Latin charts and won the MTV Video Music Award.
En Vivo Marzo 16 (1992) was released on CD; Voces a mi Al Alaimo (1993); and Nada Es Ida (1999), a world-beat inspired album. He left Sony for the 2002 album Segundas partes también son buenas, but he returned to the company the following year.
Stop, his 2004 album Stop reached the top ten in Latin America and the United States Latin charts, owing to the hits "T De Qué Vas" and "Si La Ves," the former a project of pop band Sin Bandera. He toured arenas in the United States with Ricardo Montaner, a fellow Argentina-Venezuelan songwriter, in the same year. He has appeared on Italian and Portuguese. He has written songs for Ricky Martin and Chayanne as a songwriter.
In 2005, a limited version of Stop Stop + Algo Más was released, including remixes and live recordings, as well as No Sé Lo Que Me Das, De Vita's first English album. Mil y Una Historias En Vivo, a two-disc live album that also included four studio tracks, including collaborations with Alejandro Fernández and Diego El Cigala, will be released next year. De Vita worked on a single with reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel called "Oye Donde Esta El Amor" in 2007, which took the chorus from his composition "Donde Esta El Amor" in 2007. They also released an updated version of "Un Buen Persoon Perdedor," which peaked at No. 1. Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart # 2 shows the two artists on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. He re-recorded "Que No Muera La Esperanza" (originally featured on Voces A Mi Algarethor) with Wisin & Yandel in 2008, as well as a debuting of a new studio album, Simplemente La Verdad. He was also given the ASCAP Latin Heritage Award.
De Vita debuted on Tony Bennett's album Viva Duets in 2012. At the 2012 Pepsi Venezuela Music Awards, he was named Artist of the Year. De Vita was inducted into the Billboard Latin Music of Fame in 2014 in 2014.
