Francesco Facchinetti (born May 2, 1980), also known as Dj Francesco or Oz, is an Italian DJ, producer, singer, actor, and TV presenter.

He rose to fame as a guitarist in the summer of 2003, when he launched "La canzone del capitano," his debut single, which became a hit in Italy.

He released three studio albums before deciding against his music career in 2007, and he appeared in the San Diego Music Festival three times.

He is the creator of the Italian EDM band "We Are Presidents." He appeared on L'isola dei famosi, an Italian reality show in 2004.

He was co-presented of the show three years ago.

Facchinetti started in 2008 with the first four series of X Factor, the Italian version of the talent show created by Simon Cowell in the United Kingdom.

Facchinetti introduced Star Academy, which replaced X Factor, when RAI decided not to continue the show.

Early life

Francesco Facchinetti was born in Milan on May 2, 1980, to Italian singer Roby Facchinetti, better known as a member of the pop band Pooh and Rosaria Longoni. Alessandra Facchinetti, his elder sister, is a fashion designer.

Personal life

Facchinetti began an on-again off-again relationship with fellow contestant and Venezuelan television presenter Ada Yéspica on the reality show L'isola dei famosi. They did not know each other until July 2006. Facchinetti began dating Italian TV presenter Alessia Marcuzzi in August 2010. Mia Facchinetti, Marcuzzi's first daughter, was born on September 4, 2011. Alessia Marcuzzi and Francesco Facchinetti announced their separation on October 9, 2012, when they shared a joint statement on their Facebook and Twitter official pages.

Facchinetti has marketed Adidas and Plein, promoting them in the Italian press.

Conor McGregor, a mixed martial artist, reportedly assaulted Facchinetti without permission in a nightclub in Rome on October 17, 2021, breaking Facchinetti's nose. Facchinetti intends to sue McGregor for the unprovoked assault.

Facchinetti joined the punk band Facchinetti and became a host of Hit Channel 102.5, directed by veteran and talent hunter Claudio Cecchetto. During Canale 5's quiz show Passaparola, the jingle for his TV program, "La canzone del capitano," was also used. "La canzone del capitano," his debut single under the pseudonym DJ Francesco, became a hit in Italy, topped the FIMI Singles Chart for four weeks and being rated gold.

"Salta," his second single, became Italy's top 20 hits. DJ Francesco was nominated for Best Italian Revelation of the Year at the fourth Italian Music Awards in October of the year. "Ti adoro," Facchinetti's rap version of Luciano Pavarotti's song with the same name, was released in February 2004. DJ Francesco performed at the 54th San Francisco Music Festival in March with the album "Era bellissimo," placing 11th in a field of 22 people. The song appeared on his first studio album, Bella di padella, which also included DJ Francesco's previous singles, which was released in March 2004.

DJ Francesco debuted on September 4, 2004, becoming a contestant of the reality show L'isola dei famosi. He appeared in the San Francisco Music Festival for the second time in 2005, mainly for the DJ Francesco Band.
