Jackie was considering canceling the wedding for the entire week leading up to the event, according to Rule, who was 18 at the time. Ethel Kennedy, the wife of JFK's brother Robert F. MAUREEN CALLAHAN: Ted Kennedy's sexual assault and murderer biography is a new biographical study

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 28, 2022
CALLAHAN: A talk about rewriting history. Ted Kennedy's latest biography, which is out this week, soft-pedals the worst of him: namely, his callous and lifelong mistreatment of women, but not in the manner that young Kennedy aide Mary Jo Kopechne's death. To be specific, if we were talking about a right-wing senator with the same track record - five years into #MeToo - we would have a different estimation. And Ted, who is also in death, keeps getting a pass. It's also sad that this latest installment from respected prize-winning scholar John A. Farrell, titled 'Ted Kennedy: A Life', has been long-listed for a National Book Award. Well, for all the rumors that this book broke news about Chappaquiddick, there will be no new information here. Except, of course, there are always excuses and blame shifting.
