This is breast cancer awareness month. Please schedule your mammogram because early detection can, in fact, save lives. I am grateful that my Mom is still here as a survivor and that her diagnosis facilitated a new appreciation for the gift of time. I look at my mom and I see incredible resilience and magnified gratitude. I inherited some of the best parts of me from her - it took awhile for me to fully absorb this. Grateful to GOD we have right now. I love you mommy. 💕#healing #breastcancerawareness #earlydetection

Part of what I understand has contributed to the longevity of my career is how I “show up”. I have taken inventory specifically of the last 20 years of being an actress and a lot of my work within this time frame could be classified as “repeat business”. Meaning, I have been blessed to be invited back to collaborate with the same producers directors and creators frequently. I don’t presume it’s just because of my artistry as a storyteller but I believe, even more importantly, it’s the spirit I find paramount to bring with me to the environment. A spirit of gratitude and collaboration preparedness and professionalism. There is a plethora of hefty amazing talent available in this business don’t squander opportunity or inhibit someone else’s by infecting the atmosphere with behavior that isn’t “fruitful”. #myhumbleopinion

Last night my bestie and I stayed awake until 2am soaking in this realones_podcast riveting RAW bold and transformative conversation between two men, fathers, artists and friends jonnybernthal and #shialabeouf It is a 2 hour discussion that I believe ignites and illuminates the power of the gospel to set the captives free. (Luke 4:18). Thank you gentleman for the hope interlaced within this. celihangout and I were cheering and crying as we understood what we were witnessing-an earnest quest that’s rooted in greater purpose. To GOD be the glory. #forgiven #loved #blessed 🙏🏽

Earlier this week I saw a screening of “A Jazzman’s Blues” at the new Tudum Netflix theater. Prior to the screening we were enlightened to hear directly from tylerperry about the genesis of this film , which was inspired by a conversation Tyler shared with the late great August Wilson. The tenacity of faith it required to get this film made is quite inspiring. This story itself is set during the Jim Crow era and has plenty of drama, rich visuals, music and dance numbers (choreographed by the phenomenal debbieallen) to enjoy. Congratulations to all involved especially #JoshuaBoone (who has the voice of an angel) and #SoleaPfeiffer on her big screen debut! 🙌🏾💃🏽💫

Making memories with my favorite person ❤️ Last year Varro & I visited undercanvasofficial for a camping (more like glamping) experience in the Grand Canyon. On the way to horseback riding we saw wild horses, roaming freely in their element. And yes Varro made his case on why we should adopt one 😆 The best part might have been the helicopter ride we took just to marvel over Gods creation. Nothing like the GRAND Canyon to remind you how small, but significant, you are in His masterplan. Where will we go next? ✈️ #wanderlust
