An unknown number of cows were positive for Type A H5N1, the virus that triggered the largest ever outbreak of cattle, and has killed hundreds of people globally since 2022, according to tests. Farmers first noticed cows dying of hunger and lethargy three weeks ago, but then they began to produce much less milk.
