Police Scotland has announced that three people and a dog died in a Perth hotel fire, with 999 crews racing to the scene after the fire broke out. A fire at the New County Hotel in County Place had been reported shortly before 5.10 a.m. today, prompting emergency services. Three people were confirmed dead on the scene, but a number of others were treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service for minor injuries. Guests and two residents from a neighboring block of flats were evacuated and are being accommodated.
