Junior career
Price finished 20th all-around in the 2008 US Classics junior division, placing him 20th all-around. She was ranked 12th on the vault, 22nd on both the uneven bars and balance beam, and 17th on floor exercises.
Price qualified to the junior elite level and competed in the US Nationals' junior division, finishing 27th all-around. Vault continued to be her best event, where she ranked 13th by the end of day one and fell to 14th place after the second day. On both nights, she ranked 28th on uneven bars, but she fell from 15th place to 22nd on the balance beam over the course of the two nights of competition. On day one of floor exercise, she came in 26th, but by the second night, she climbed to finish in 24th place on the machine.
In addition to the 2009 American Classic, a junior qualifying event for the Visa Championships (also known as the US Nationals), Price took part in four invitationals. She captured the all-around title at her gym's Parkette Invitational and went on to win first place on vault and second place in the Maryland Classics all-around tournament. She then competed at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational and posted the same results in addition to her first place victory on floor exercise. Senior career
Price started her first year as a member of the Parkette Invitational, winning a coveted 10 on vault. Except on balance beam, where she came in second, she came in first on every apparatus except on balance beam, where she came in second.
Price was selected in March for the second year in a row to represent the United States at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy, where the team defended their title by winning first place. Price was ranked second in the WCII All Around World Rankings in the 2012–2013 season, behind Germany's Elisabeth Seitz ranked second in the WCII All Around World Rankings.
Price had hoped to participate in the 2013 American Cup but was forced to cancel due to a strained hip muscle. She cited her desire to be fit for future competitions, such as the Visa National Championships and World Championships, as the reason for withdrawing considering that this was a minor injury.
Price recovered training in April 2013 but the opposite hip fractured was incurred. She was still recovering from the injury and was unable to participate in the 2013 Secret US Classic.

Price began her NCAA career by scoring a 9.95 on the vault at the Northern California Classic on January 4, 2015. She had a perfect 10 on vault on January 26, 2015, in a match against Oregon State. She had suffered a fractured foot during the off-season, which reduced her preparation time in the preseason and barred her from participating in the all-around at the start of the NCAA season. In a match against San Jose State on January 9, 2015, she scored a 9.925. In a match against Arizona State that kept her out of the bars line-up until the Pac-12 Championships, she sustained a shoulder injury during her uneven bars routine on January 31, 2015. On March 2, 2015, she competed on floor exercise for the first time, scoring a 9.975 out of a total of 9.975. Price won 11 victories in 14 appearances, including vault (6), bars (4), and floor (1). She had a 9.925 average in 12-of-14 routines, including the perfect 10 on vault, and began her college career with seven straight individual events victories. She received two Pac-12 weekly awards: Specialist of the Week (March 10) and Freshman/Newcomer of the Week (Jan. 12).
