She has received the Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album (2016) and the Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album (2017).

Personal life

Elias is a Brazilian of Italian and Spanish descent. Amanda Elias Brecker, an American trumpeter, married her in 1984, with whom she has a daughter. Marc Johnson, a bassist in her band and co-produces her songs, is married to her.

Jim Beard, a musician known for his work with Steely Dan, has died at the age of 63, according to reports. Deadline reports that the composer and producer died in a hospital in New York City on Saturday, March 2nd, from sudden illness. Beard had been a member of Steely Dan since 2008 and had recently traveled with the Eagles for their Long Goodbye tour.
