Elena Risteska (born 27 April 1986), also known as Elena, is a Macedonian recording artist.
"Ninanajna," she represented North Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens, finishing in 12th place, the highest ever finish for the country before Risteska's record was broken in 2019. Risteska is also a songwriter, composing for writers such as 4Play, Lambe Alabakoski, and Aleksandra Pileva. Early life
Risteska was born in Skopje on April 27, 1986. SR Macedonia then belongs to parents Acko and Desa. She demonstrated an early interest in the arts, inheriting her mother's musical passion but also exploring other hobbies and interests. She was a member of the KUD, which was a folk dance and songs group in 1994. Elena took part in school events, including singing in the "Young Imitators" show and becoming a member of the drama club.
Risteska made her television debut on the Mak-Karaoke Show in 1996, performing the song "Flamingo" on the commercial channel A1. She began learning the English and French languages the same year. She began to sing in the school choir and moved to Bulgaria for her first tour with the folk dance club. Elena Risteska's album "Ninanajna" appeared in the North Macedonia pre-selection race for the Eurovision Song Contest on March 4, 2006. Darko Dimitrov produced and performed the song, with lyrics by Rade Vrakovski. The album is a tempo, pop song that features elements of R&B, disco, and dance music. She shot a video for the song with the Macedonian band "Tomato." She was featured in the video as a shining care girl who longs for love. Risteska qualified for the final on Saturday, and after spending the majority of the night on the edge of the top ten (which would guarantee automatic final qualification for North Macedonia in 2007), she finished 12th with 56 points, her highest finish ever, and only one above 305 points, when Tamara Todevska finished 7th with 305 points.

Elena descended on Yerevan, Armenia, in September, to attend Andre's concert in Armenia's Eurovision 2006 host Andre. In September 2012, she revealed that her latest single, "Opasni Vreminja," will be released. With a new video, it was announced in October. She shot her latest video in numerous places in North Macedonia, including Ohrid and other cities.
She appeared on Your Face Sounds Familiar's second season in late 2014. Nina Badric, Severina, Jennifer Lopez, and Esma Redzepova were all imitated artists by the singer.
