The nights are drawing in, the weather is dropping, and the cost of living is on the rise. So why not follow the ROYALS with these simple money-saving hacks

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 28, 2023
Wealth doesn't have to imply extravagance, as shown by the British Royal Family, who, despite their numerous palaces and burgeoning bank accounts, is surprisingly conservative with the money. Tales of the late Queen Elizabeth's thriftiness abound, from turning off the lights in empty rooms to sending half a lemon (squeezed over her salmon only once!) For re-use, it's returned to the kitchen. And if few have gone to the lengths of Queen Mary, the King's great grandmother, who used to display 'used' flowers from her own vases at home, she was by no means alone. The food habits seem to have been passed down through the generations, with William and Kate even seen on budget flights. So as the nights draw in, why not save some pennies with these helpful royal hacks?

After the senator said she had "no recollection" of suspected groping, Amanda Stoker blasts David Van

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 16, 2023
During an editorial on Sky News on Friday, Sky News host Amanda Stoker, a Queensland Liberal National senator from 2018 to 2022, pleaded for women not to 'take any s***.' Ms Stoker pleaded guilty twice at a casual gathering in a parliamentary office on Thursday evening. She said the senator's public denial of her groping allegations had backed up her decision to come forward after Lidia Thorpe told the Senate that Mr Van had sexually assaulted and assaulted her on Wednesday. 'Ladies, don't put up with behaviour that you don't like.' Ms Stoker told viewers on Friday evening, 'Don't take s***t.'

Barack and Michelle Obama unveil their White House portraits

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 7, 2022
On Wednesday, Barack and Michelle Obama returned to the White House and unveiled their formal portraits, which would adorn the executive mansion's walls. 'Barack and Michelle, welcome home!' At the dinner in the East Room, President Joe Biden spoke. 'It's nice to see you again, mother,' Biden said, speaking with Michelle Obama's Marian Robinson, who was seated in the front row.

Barack and Michelle Obama are back in the White House for

Several large, formal portraits of presidents and first ladies adorn walls, hallways, and rooms in the White House, and, more traditionally, a former president returns for the unveiling during his successor's tenure. The Obamas (pictured top-right hosting George W. Bush and his wife, Laura), who have been popular since being out of the political spotlight, did not have their wedding reception when Republican President Donald Trump was in office. That means it's been more than a decade since a first-term president has invited his predecessor to attend the occasion. Before winning the election in 2016 and replacing Obama in 2017, Trump (pictured bottom-right at his inauguration in 2017) was a long-serving proponent of the 'birther' campaign, who incorrectly said Obama was not born in the United States.

The Bidens will host the Obamas to the White House for the delayed portrait unveiling

Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama will attend Jill Biden and former First Lady Michelle Obama in the White House next week for the long-awaited unveiling of their official portraits. Former President Donald Trump may have welcomed the Obamas to the White House for the formal event in the spring of 2020 if he had followed tradition. Trump did not do such things.

Madam C.J., the black haircare pioneer. Walker has been immortalized as a Barbie doll

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 26, 2022
Mattel has paid tribute to Walker by including her as the newest doll in Barbie's Inspiring Women Series. In the 19th century, the African American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and social activist made her fortune by launching a line of haircare products for black women. The unveiling of the historic doll coincides with the Black Business Month in August. Walker was born Sarah Breedlove in Delta, Louisiana, in 1867. In 1906, she took the name of her third husband, Charles Joseph Walker, and launched Madam C.J. Walker, one of the first black haircare products. She was a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance and a founding member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). In 1919, Walker died of kidney disease at the age of 51.

It's 'INCLUSIVE' Barbie! From a hearing impaired doll to transgender and conservationist toys, there are plenty of categories to choose from

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 16, 2022
Barbie, a traditionally white, blonde doll with deceptively low body figures, has been trying to make its line more inclusive in recent years. And now a hearing impaired Barbie (left) is the latest to join the ever-growing list of diverse Barbies, which also includes a transgender toy (right) and one in a wheelchair. Barbie has also pursued a variety of careers in recent years, from vaccinologist (second from left) to conservationist (centre), transforming from the stereotypically feminine careers of fashion designer and nurse in the early 1960s. When a doll was released to commemorate Hunky Dory's 50th birthday, she even used the guise of David Bowie last month (second from right).

Why no mum should go on her daughter's hen do: By LINDSAY NICHOLSON, who lived to regret it

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 11, 2022
Lindsay Nicholson's hen do resembles a "willing prisoner" in her daughter's hen do, focusing on the 'fear of being too involved' and fading away after a 'jeroboam of prosecco' was brought out. 'Even though it's a new tradition, I'm hoping that my nieces would invite not only their same-age relatives but also mothers and aunts if they had a hen party.'
