Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly set to fight for the signing of Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes this summer. The Brazilian is believed to have a release clause in the region of £100million, though interested clubs may strike a deal for a lower fee. The Brazilian midfielder has penned a long-term deal with the Magpies following a series of positive meetings. CRAIG HOPE: Newcastle's injury epidemic has now extended to their backroom workers, with goalkeeping coach Shwan Jalal suffering a serious knee injury during the club's recent trip to Dubai, according to Notebook. This is the latest tragedy, the 40-year-old was wounded in the final 15 minutes of the last session before the team returned home to Tyneside. Jalal will now be out of action until pre-season and has his leg in a defensive brace. Adam Bartlett will take care of the keepers, and Eddie Howe is lucky that he has two very capable goalie coaches.

Eddie Howe has confirmed that he did not want Newcastle to go on their post-season trip to Australia. Howe has contributed to the questions raised by England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of his Magpies' flying halfway around the world to face Tottenham Hotspur as part of a two-match tour at the end of May. Newcastle is apparently preparing for Arsenal and Tottenham to make £100 million bids for Alexander Isak this summer. Newcastle may be required to sell Isak as a result of Financial Fair Play legislation, according to The Sun.
