He is the creator of Toy Machine, a skateboard business that he continues to own and manage.

Early life
Templeton was born in Garden Grove, Orange County, California, USA. Before moving to Huntington Beach, his family lived in various places in Southern California. He began skateboarding in 1985 in Huntington Beach, California, with a friend, Jason Lee. Templeton detonated his obsession with skateboarding in a 2012 interview: he told us a little bit about it.
In 1991, Templeton married Deanna Templeton. They both became vegetarian in 1990, vegan in 1991, and haven't eaten meat or dairy products since being vegetarian.
Templeton has avoided alcohol for the majority of his life, and he does not smoke or use other recreational drugs.
